A propos Olivier Fanuel

Born in 1988 in Montignies, Belgium, started to play music at the age of 15 and chose the electric bass as main instrument. Took lessons with Jacques Pili, then studied 2 years at the JazzStudio of Antwerpen and had lessons with Victor DaCosta, Pierre Van Dormael, Jeremy Calbert and many others. Won the Dennis Ervin Award-best bassplayer 2009 at the Jazz in Laurino Festival, Italy. Started to study double bass in 2010. Obtained his bachelor degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2011 where he followed lessons with Bart DeNolf, Jeroen Van Herzeele, Diderick Wissels and many others, he also took part in the belgian adaptation of the Broadway musical “Hairspray” during the same year. He’s now part of numerous projects and plays with several artists such as Annie Cordy, The Angelo Gregorio Band, The Nicolas Loozen Trio, Calzone & Gamberetti and many others.
